Handyman/Home Maintenance

We are happy to turn our hand to almost anything that is safe and legal, but some examples of what we can help with are suggested below.  If unsure whether we can do something, please just ask!
If we notice something dangerous, or that we think may require further investigation, we will highlight this to you (in writing, where possible) so that you can discuss it with friends/family, or ask the advice of a qualified tradesman. 
Electrical work

Electrical work

First, it's important to note that we are NOT electricians.
However there is a lot of work that any householder can safely and legally do, 
and it is these tasks that we are happy to do on your behalf, such as :
  • Replacing existing switches, sockets etc
  • Fitting doorbells, smoke alarms etc
  • Replacing light fittings
  • Changing light bulbs
  • Basic safety checks (for frayed cables, overloaded sockets, etc)

Joinery

We can help with various tasks including :
  • Assembling flat-pack furniture
  • Fitting a new handle, lock, etc
  • Hanging pictures
  • Fitting curtain rails
  • Installing TV brackets
  • Fitting skirting boards, shelves, etc
  • etc
Electrical work

Plumbing

First, it's important to note that we are NOT plumbers, and if on inspection the work looks like it may require specialist skills/equipment, then we would happily advise calling in a specialist (in which case there would be no charge for our time). The main issue is that even straightforward tasks rely on being able to isolate the water, which may not always be straightforward. However there are various things we can usually deal with, such as :
  • Bleeding radiators
  • Replacing radiator valves
  • Replacing tap washers
  • Fitting an outside tap
  • Replacing radiators
Gardening

Garden clearance/landscaping

Whilst not horticultural experts, we do enjoy our own garden, and can provide some "informed muscle" to help you with your renovation or maintenance, such as :
  • Clearing weeds
  • Pressure-washing paths, driveways etc
  • Shrub/tree reduction (not expert pruning!)
  • Laying mulch, gravel, etc
  • Installing clothes driers etc
  • Basic landscaping and manual labour
